Lethargy

To tell you the truth, I've got nothing. All I have is to focus on passing my first fucking semester. I don't give a shit if my fucking laundry doesn't get done, if I don't gel my hair in the morning, or I haven't showered in a few days. "Eeew" you think.

Well fuck off.
I'm not here to impress anyone nor is there anyone here I need to impress.

Done.

Get enough sleep (when you can) - coming from me, you know that I understand the concept of how much work there can be in a post secondary institution. And if you think Art School is much easier, I've been pulling 9am til 10pm (13 hour school days) almost every day for the last two years. And then I go home and pull all nighters. Even with all that, however, I'm an idiot when it comes to time management. From what I know - not that I can tell how you are now - you're much the same way.

Logically, if less time was spent doing frivolous things such as reading blogs or writing in them, checking email, etc, more time could be spent sleeping. I say more time spent sleeping instead of more time spent studying, because I know firsthand how hard it is to be cognizant in class the next day when you're running on empty. Memory and productivity are left at home.

Anyway, you know all this already, and now I've wasted another two minutes of your time that could be used more wisely, but anyway, like you said... focus, and hang in there. I'm going to try to take my own advice to heart, right after I cook up a nutritious and delicious instant noodle meal.

And you're wrong about your last line. Yes, you are not at school to impress your parents, your peers, or your professors. You are there to impress yourself with what you are capable of learning and doing. You know the satisfaction of scoring high on an exam is most satisfying because it was a personal goal, not because you could then brag and lord it over your peers. (Which is something I know you wouldn't do, unless maybe it was good-naturedly.)

Anyway. Make sure to eat as well as you can, sleep as much as possible/practical, and then kick ass on the finals. Sorry, it was three minutes, not two.
